Porting an existing phone number
If you already have a business number, you can keep it and still have VoiceCraft answer your calls by setting up call forwarding.
How call forwarding works
You provision a VoiceCraft number for your agent, then tell your existing phone (or carrier) to forward all calls to that VoiceCraft number. Callers still dial your original number. VoiceCraft answers on the other end.
Set up call forwarding
Open your agent and go to Channels, then select Phone.
Provision a VoiceCraft number if you have not already. See Provisioning a phone number.
Once the number is assigned, a Forward your existing number guide appears on the Phone page.
Select your phone type: iPhone, Android, or Landline / Office.
Follow the step-by-step instructions shown. Each tab walks you through the exact settings path for that device or provider.
Test it: call your old number from another phone. If VoiceCraft answers, forwarding is working.
iPhone
Go to Settings > Phone > Call Forwarding, turn it on, then enter your VoiceCraft number in the Forward To field.
Android
Open the Phone app, go to Settings, then find Call Forwarding (under Calls or Supplementary Services). Tap Always Forward and enter your VoiceCraft number. The exact menu path varies by phone brand.
Landline / Office phone
Contact your telephone provider and ask them to set up unconditional call forwarding to your VoiceCraft number. Some providers let you do this through their website or app under "call forwarding" or "call diversion" settings.
Important notes
Call forwarding may add a small delay to call connection time.
Set forwarding to unconditional (always forward), not just "when unanswered", if you want your agent to handle all calls.
Full number porting (transferring ownership of your number to VoiceCraft) is not currently self-service. Contact [email protected] if you need this.
