Data retention and deletion

Only workspace Owners can configure data retention.
- Go to Settings from the user menu.
- Find the Data Retention section.
- Set the number of days to retain deleted data (default: 30 days).
How retention works
When you delete an agent, it is soft-deleted, meaning:
- It disappears from your active agent list.
- It moves to Settings > Trash.
- It can be restored within the retention period.
- After the retention period expires, a background job permanently purges it.
Trash
Go to Settings > Trash to see soft-deleted agents:
- Each shows a countdown until permanent deletion.
- Click Restore to bring an agent back.
- Click Purge to permanently delete immediately (frees up storage and agent slots).
Form submission deletion
Form submissions support tombstoning for compliance:
- Tombstoned submissions have PII redacted but the record is preserved for audit purposes.
- This is separate from full deletion and is designed for HIPAA compliance scenarios.
Automated cleanup
VoiceCraft runs background jobs to:
- Purge soft-deleted agents after the retention period.
- Archive old messages based on retention policy.
- Sweep abandoned orders for follow-up.
